I leaned over the edge with my camera ready as the Louisiana State Capitol stood as the centerpiece. It’s the tallest capitol building in the U.S., but it was even more monumental up there. Baton Rouge is an old-world charm with modern energy, and from up here you can see it all come together.

It was exciting and humbling to capture this aerial view. I knew I had to get the shot exactly right. There was a harmony of patterns, greenery, and architecture below, one that begged to be photographed. It hit me as I clicked the shutter: Baton Rouge is not just a city. It’s alive, it’s breathing, and it thrives on history, culture and progress.
