What drew me into this scene was the contrast between sharpness and softness. The long spines radiate outward in nearly every direction, overlapping one another to create a maze of fine lines. Between them are delicate, almost feathery textures that soften the composition. The shallow depth of field lets some of those spines remain crisp while others gradually disappear into the background, giving the photograph a sense of depth without losing the intensity of the cactus's golden color.
