I never expected to find cats here, but they instantly became the stars of my lens.

One cat sits proudly on the edge of a small stone fountain, gazing out like it owns the place. It’s got this dignified look, as if it’s watching over the courtyard with a serious "I’m in charge" vibe. The other cat, however, is more playful, almost mischievous, with its tail curled as if ready to spring into action. Together, they bring a quirky, lighthearted energy to this historic spot, softening the solemnity of the old bricks and cobblestone. They’re like silent, bronze guardians of Betsy’s legacy, but with a fun twist.

I wanted to capture the cats in a way that blended their charm with the proud, towering flag above. It took a few adjustments, framing the statues with the flag in the background. With each shot, It seems I captured a different layer of this place, the cats adding a unique touch beyond the museum.

These statues seem to welcome everyone who steps into the courtyard. Maybe these cats remind us that history isn’t just about famous figures and big events. It’s about the little things too, the small details that make a place feel alive. I felt like these bronze cats had become more than statues, they were a part of the story, and now, a part of my story, too.
