There is no other place like White Sands. As I lifted my camera, I knew that taking this view would be no small feat. The ground had been molded by countless years of shifting gypsum crystals, soft like powdered sugar, but sturdy. All I could see in all directions was an unbroken line of white sand dunes. Above them was a brilliant blue sky, sprinkled with clouds. The whole park had an almost magical glow provided by the light bouncing off the dunes.

The dry landscape looked inhospitable but the grass was alive and it supplied a green break among the vast whiteness of the landscape. It’s a quiet reminder of life in the most unexpected places, where all odds are against them.

I raised my camera up, looking at a horizon that was so perfect that it looked like someone had drawn it by hand. At that moment the horizon became the hero of the frame, and it was demanding to be seen. Here, where earth meets sky, you feel the boundless freedom and wonder that only nature can offer. It’s more than just white dunes and gypsum crystals. It's a reminder of the beauty of simplicity, waiting to be discovered everywhere.
