This iconic bell may have flaws but it has a strength that endures and speaks volumes without a single sound. Its crack isn't just a flaw. It's a record of history and freedom.

When I took this photo, I knew I wanted to do more than simply photograph the Liberty Bell’s famous silhouette. I wanted to feel its spirit. The glass framed the bell, and behind it was the Philadelphia State House, making a quiet, powerful symbol of endurance. I adjusted my camera settings, knowing I needed the light just right. I wanted to show the crack down to its depth and the surface that had seen generations pass.

Through my lens, I saw the bell not as an object, but as a witness. It’s seen countless people stop, stare, and reflect. From revolutionaries to tourists, they all see something in that cracked bell, something that connects them to a larger story. And yet, it stands there, remaining the same, in the city it has watched grow and evolve.

I stepped back after a few shots to see if I had captured what I felt in that moment. The Liberty Bell made me feel that even when broken, we can still stand strong. There is still a chance for us to be a symbol of hope, strength, and resilience. In its silence, it says so much.
