RV Hall of Fame: Elkhart, Indiana Motorhome Museum Photography Wall Art

In Northern Indiana, near Notre Dame University, the RV/MH Hall of Fame and Museum brings legends to life. It is unlikely not to be captivated by the view of the old Travco motorhome near this iconic structure, the keeper of history. This place is dedicated to the spirit of America’s car traveling.

I have taken thousands of pictures as a professional photographer, but this picture was one of a kind. The Travco with its timeless looks and faded paint embodies the spirit of every wanderlust in a vehicle. The details which had once been a part of the structure translated it into a historical relic of Indiana. I composed the shot in such a manner that not only the motor home was included in the shot but also the reflective glass of the museum behind the motor home. The lines of the building complemented the curves of the old fashioned RV, thus making it a very nice mix of the past and the present.

In this story, Travco comes out as the real hero. A car doesn’t just represent an automobile but liberty, adventure and the dream of America. It’s like a nod to the days when going on the road was not only a literal journey from one place to another. I could hear the RV’s many travels in my shot. It came to me how the laughter sounds, how the music plays, even the silences of watching the world pass by.

But there is the museum. The RV/MH Hall of Fame in Indiana is not just an RV and motorhome heritage museum, it’s a place where histories are shared, where RV history is honored. It is a place that makes you have a look at the past and look at the machines that have evolved and reflect the changes in American culture and lifestyle.

As I walked away, I wondered about the families and the tourists who have set off on long journeys in cars such as this. What stories will be revealed in the RV/MH Hall of Fame and Museum? Maybe like me you will be amazed and think of the stories that started with the twist of a key in the car.

This place is not only a history of the country but also freedom and adventurous traveling on roads.
