I reached the beach as the storm edge broke and color rushed in from the west. I walked the pebble line to frame the lighthouse between the two headlands, then set my tripod low so the cove filled the foreground. When the sun lit the beacon and the clouds opened into bands of yellow and rose, I pressed the shutter and tried to keep that peaceful North Shore hush in the image.
