I photographed this on Allen Street just as the sky began to turn pink and gold. The storefront’s symmetry and color stood out perfectly against the fading light, so I positioned myself straight on to keep every line true. A polarizer kept reflections down in the glass windows, and a mid-range aperture preserved crisp detail from the porch boards to the top balcony.
