This photography print captures the Rainy Lake Visitor Center sign at Voyageurs National Park in northern Minnesota, immediately following a downpour. The bricks glisten from the heavy rain, while the sign reflects the golden hues of sunset as the storm broke apart. Behind it, Rainy Lake and the softening clouds create a powerful contrast between storm and calm.

When I photographed this scene, the rain came down in buckets, sending everyone else running for cover. I stayed, soaked but determined, waiting for the sky to open. When it finally did, the setting sun broke through the clouds and struck the sign, making it glow with golden reflections against the dark, wet ground. That fleeting moment — when storm and light collided — felt like a gift I had waited for alone, camera ready.
